“I believe that the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) will usher in a bright future and I am committed to promoting this vision,” said Abbie S. David, Ambassador of Grenada to China, in an exclusive interview with China.org.cn.

“Last year Grenada signed up to the Belt and Road Initiative,” said David. “Grenada and other Caribbean countries will continue to strengthen exchanges, make progress, and implement different initiatives under the Belt and Road Initiative.”
“Earlier this year, our high-level delegation attended the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, which yielded fruitful results,” she added. “We are looking forward to promoting common development and mutual exchanges under the Belt and Road Initiative.”
A PhD student from China Foreign Affairs University, and one of the youngest ambassadors in China, Abbie S. David believes that understanding comes before cooperating for a better world, and hopes that China and Grenada will see an increase in people-to-people exchanges.
“Without actually coming here and being able to exchange ideas and information, we cannot understand what China is,” said David. “It is especially important for young people to come here and understand China, and vice versa.”
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China this year, David extended her congratulations and praised the great progress and success China has achieved in poverty alleviation. “We hope to continue to exchange views in order to strengthen our cooperation and enhance people’s lives.”
