This promotion was one of the important activities under the framework of the China-EU Tourism Year, and the largest tourism exchange activity between China and Austria in recent years.
The Chinese Ambassador to Austria Li Xiaosi remarked: "China and Austria are both rich and complementary to each other in tourism resources. Tourism cooperation has become a highlight of our bilateral relations."
About 67,600 Austrians visited China in 2017, an increase of 2.5 percent year-on-year.
About 881,000 Chinese tourists visited Austria in 2017, according to Austrian statistics.
Chinese tourists visiting Austria in 2017 spent an average of 555 euros ($685), the most compared to other foreign guests, according to new figures from Premier Tax Free Austria.
