NAIROBI, June 6 (Xinhua) -- New Chinese Ambassador to Kenya Sun Baohong on Tuesday vowed to use her new position to enhance China-Kenyan relations to further promote the existing strategic partnership and deepen ties between the two countries.

Sun, who is China's first female ambassador to Nairobi, made the remarks when she presented her credentials to Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta in Nairobi, according to a statement issued from the presidency.

"China and Kenya have for many years enjoyed mutual collaboration in various areas including infrastructure development and manufacturing," the State House said in a statement issued after the ceremony in Nairobi.

Kenyatta told Sun that Kenya had enjoyed a strong mutual understanding with her predecessor, Liu Xianfa, and hoped that the partnership between the two countries will continue during her term in Nairobi.

According to the presidency, Kenya is keen to tap into Chinese investments in the manufacturing sector by harnessing Beijing's technical prowess, capital and experience to promote industrial growth as outlined in the Vision 2030 blue-print.
