BEIJING, May 17 (Xinhua) – China and Oman signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on co-construction of the Belt and Road in Beijing on Tuesday.

Before the signing, Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks with Oman's Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs Yousuf bin Alawi.

Wang said that China is willing to take the opportunity of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Oman to further consolidate mutual political trust, take care of each other’s core interests and major concerns, jointly promote the Belt and Road Initiative and focus on their pragmatic cooperation in fields including interconnection, industrial parks, energy, capacity, technology, finance and ports.

Alawi said that Oman will actively participate in the construction of the Belt and Road and continue to raise the level of cooperation between the two countries.
