TRIPOLI, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- Libya's UN-backed Prime Minister Fayez Serraj discussed Wednesday with French Ambassador to Libya Brigitte Kormi on the economic forum to be held in Tripoli in March.

The forum will be attended by "major French companies in various sectors, including energy, health and infrastructure," the media office of the prime minister said in a statement.

A government source confirmed that the preparation committee of the forum intends to invite a number of companies and institutions, both governmental and private, to hold consultations on projects to be carried out in partnership with French companies.

"The forum will develop a comprehensive plan to monitor Libya's urgent programs to develop the health sector and in-house treatment, as well as important road projects and government institutions rehabilitation," the source told Xinhua.

During the meeting, Ambassador Kormi stressed "France's keenness to achieve stability in Libya and aspiration for the success of the upcoming elections," the statement said.

Serraj said that the eastern-based House of Representatives "must fulfill its commitment by issuing referendum law and elections law."
